Going Live!

It is easy to get wrapped up in a project, especially as you approach the long-awaited go-live weekend.

We have just gone live with multiple applications in a sort of big bang approach due to the various integrations and relationships between apps, email, operational reasons etc.

I’m pleased to report it was a success and after a short post go-live period of Hypercare, we are all systems go (pun intended)!

Happy days…?

This natural ending to the project got me thinking about the mixed bag of feelings surrounding go-live…

• Achievement, pride, fulfillment?

• Relief, exhaustion, fatigue?

• Sadness, fear, uncertainty?

• Energised, determined, confident?

It can feel like all of the above at once sometimes. Perhaps it follows the classic change curve where we experience a combination of negative and positive emotions as we get our heads around what this new world means and what is next?

Whatever is happening, it’s interesting and will never get boring.

It’s the perfect time to take stock, capture lessons learned and reflect on what is next on the horizon.

Go-live will always be a roller coaster of emotions and rightly so, given the amount of work that goes into making it a success.
